Parking & Arrival

Please be aware that Boudica Pottery is located on a residential estate; Address: Boudica Pottery, 3 Abbey Park, Louth, Lincolnshire, LN11 7BB. Kindly do not park on Abbey Park itself, as there have been complaints from neighbours — your consideration is greatly appreciated.

There is limited parking available at the pottery on the drive; you are welcome to check if a space is available.

Please do not arrive early for your session, as classes may already be underway or the studio may be in preparation. I would also kindly ask that you leave promptly at the end of your session so the studio can be prepared for the next class.

What You Need to Bring

1.        An old hand towel to wipe/dry your hands

2.        Clean apron  – must be washed after each session      

3.        Some visual ideas of anything that inspires you as a starting point for your work such as animals, shapes, patterns etc.         

Nails, Hair & Jewellery: For safety and comfort, please tie back long hair, keep nails short (no false nails), and avoid wearing valuable or delicate jewellery during sessions.                                                

Covid / Flu / Cold Protocol: Please do not attend your session if you are experiencing symptoms associated with Covid, flu, or the common cold. If you are unwell, contact us as soon as possible and your session will be rearranged. By attending, you confirm that you are symptom-free at the time of your class.

Attendance Policy

Pottery sessions are strictly for the registered, paying participant only. Due to limited studio space, health and safety regulations, and insurance requirements, no additional persons are permitted to attend or remain on the premises during sessions. This includes (but is not limited to) children, partners, friends, family members, or carers who are not booked as participants. Exception: A parent or guardian may remain during a session if the participant is a young child and/or has Special Educational Needs (SEN). This should be discussed and agreed in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Unfortunately, we do not have the space, facilities, or insurance coverage to accommodate other non-participants. By booking a session, participants agree to comply with this attendance policy.

Data consent (GDPR)

We use your details to manage your session and contact you about your pottery.
Your data is stored securely and not shared with third parties.

Facilities: The pottery is equipped with 2 electric potter’s wheels and 2 electric kilns. There are tables for use by hand-builders. Tea and coffee are provided halfway through the session. Hot water if you want to provide your own specialist tea.  Everything you need in terms of tools and materials will be provided.

Terms and Conditions: Please ensure you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before booking your Class. By booking or attending a Class or Workshop you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted them. These Terms and Conditions apply to all Classes, Experiences, Group Bookings, Studio Sessions, Workshops, and any other uses and events at Boudica Pottery which may take place.

General contract of sale

Completion of the booking process and acceptance of our terms and conditions forms your contract with Boudica Pottery.

Health and safety

Boudica Pottery takes a diligent approach to health and safety for the sake of all staff and visitors. Boudica Pottery has a no-smoking policy.

In the event of a fire, everyone is asked to make their way to the nearest available exit. 

Attendees agree to abide by the Health & Safety guidelines and as instructed by tutors. Repeated failure to do so will result in termination of the students’ participation in the class.

Liability

Public liability
Boudica Pottery accepts no liability for any injury suffered by anyone at the venue/site (including the car-parking drive area), except in so far as such loss, damage or injury is by law incapable of exclusion.

Personal belongings are brought onto the site / premises at your own risk and Boudica Pottery does not accept liability for any loss or damage whatsoever to such items.

Product liability
Work available to purchase is handmade and often made by participants at Boudica Pottery. For this reason, Boudica Pottery accepts no liability relating to purchases of artwork.

The Boudica Pottery Range is produced in-house, purchases of this work are protected by Product Liability cover held by Boudica Pottery.

Payment

Payment for Experiences, Groups and Workshops is in advance and secures the booking.

Payment for classes (full term fee) must be made in advance before joining and secures the booking. Thereafter by BACS or by cash/ cheque.

Payment is required in full for all the weeks of class during a term – usually five,six or seven weeks – unless a participant joins a Class in the middle of a term in which case payment will be for that class and the remaining weeks of the term which will be specified.

Payment for Shop purchases is required in advance and secures the item.

Payment for other uses or events at Boudica Pottery is by agreement.

Gift vouchers
Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Gift Vouchers are non-refundable. The terms below relating to cancellations and attendance also apply to the use of Gift Vouchers.

Classes, workshops and experiences

Cancellations and attendance
Cancellations by an attendee must be made in writing or by email within 14 days of the class/session, you will then be offered an alternative date (if notice is given in writing or by email at least 14 days before the Experience Day / Session is due to take place). Refunds will not be given.

If a Class, Experience Day / Session, or other event is cancelled by the Pottery you will be offered an alternative date or, if this is not acceptable, a full refund.

Once you have committed to a Class, I recommend that you attend the scheduled number of sessions to get the most out of the programme. If you are unable for any reason to attend all or some of the classes in a term the fees are still payable in full. I will endeavour to try to fit you in to another session for those having to miss a class but this cannot be guaranteed.

We reserve the right to change the timing, date or tutor of the class, experience or other event in order to provide a high-quality service or where it is necessary for reasons beyond our control.

Boudica Pottery reserves the right to cancel if insufficient bookings have been received for any class, experience or other event and will give as much notice of this as possible. Occasionally scheduled teaching may be cancelled at short notice because of factors outside our control, such as weather or illness. In this case an alternative will be offered if this is possible, if not a refund or credit offered.

Boudica Pottery will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from alterations or cancellations.

Transfers
Transfers between Classes are subject to availability and there is no guarantee that this will be possible.

Studio opening times
Boudica Pottery reserves the right to vary opening times.

The Pottery usually follows the Lincolnshire School Timetable. Boudica Pottery reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to close the pottery for additional periods.

Finished Work & Breakages Policy

All pottery created during sessions must be paid for, regardless of the final outcome.

Ceramics is a natural and unpredictable process. Cracking, warping, glaze variations, and kiln-related breakages can occur, even when all reasonable care has been taken. These outcomes are part of working with clay and are not considered faults. Sometimes for various reasons breakages occur during the firing process for which we cannot be held responsible.

Payment covers the materials, studio time, firing process, and instruction provided — not a guaranteed finished result.

By participating in a session, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in the ceramic process.

Collection of works
Keep an eye on the Boudica Pottery Whatts App group/Facebook webpage to see when your pieces are ready for collection, (usually this is around 4-6 weeks after the session), but can occasionally take longer. Finished pottery should be collected as soon as possible, within 4 weeks of notification (or completion). Due to limited storage space: Boudica Pottery reserves the right to dispose of, recycle, or donate items not collected after this period. No refunds or compensation will be provided for uncollected items
