Pottery Courses & Taster Sessions

Discover the joy of working with clay in a relaxed and creative environment. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or want to build on your existing skills, there’s a class for everyone. You can choose from Full Courses or Taster Sessions, held on Wednesdays or Saturdays – all suitable for beginners.

Our taster sessions are designed to give you a feel for what it’s like to take part in a course. They’re also a great opportunity to book a one off, fun session. The content of each session varies depending on whatever activity the group is doing that day – giving you a genuine experience of what our regular classes are like. Because of this, I ask that you get in touch before booking a taster session, so I can place you in the most suitable group.Sometimes, when enough people are interested in a taster, I run a dedicated taster session. In these, you’ll learn the basics such as:

• Wedging and preparing clay
• Rolling out slabs and shaping forms
• Exploring surface decoration and texture techniques

If time allows, you may also get the chance to try the potter’s wheel, although this depends on group size, timing, and wheel availability during your session.

You can also join our seasonal workshops (when available), or purchase a Gift Card, which can be redeemed against any class. Gift cards make a thoughtful present and are suitable for anyone aged 10 and over and are valid for 12 months.
