Our pottery taster sessions are the perfect way to get creative and experience pottery without committing to a full course. They’re ideal if you’re thinking about booking a course and would like to try pottery first, or simply want to enjoy a fun, one-off creative session.

Each session is slightly different, but you’ll have the opportunity to explore a range of pottery techniques, including wedging, throwing, hand building and surface decoration with slip.

Depending on the session and time available, you may also have a go on the potter’s wheel or learn how to build using coiling techniques. You’ll have the chance to try both throwing and hand-building, giving you a taste of the different ways you can create with clay.

You can decorate your creations with slip during the session, and if you make something you’d like to keep, you can choose to have it glazed and fired for an additional 2p per gram.

No previous experience is needed — just come along, get your hands dirty and enjoy some creative time!
